Soroptimists are dedicated to promoting peace and conflict resolution through advocacy, awareness and action. Our global efforts align with international frameworks to foster dialogue, prevent violence, and support peaceful solutions.

 CONFLICT RESOLUTION & 
.PEACE PROMOTION 

Global Advocacy:

Learn about SI’s advocacy efforts for conflict resolution. SI collaborates with organisations, governments, and communities to influence positive change and promote peaceful resolutions, aligning with international treaties such as the Geneva Conventions and New Zealand’s commitment to UN Security Council Resolutions.

SI Foundation Project:

The SI Foundation, launched in 2023, launched with two projects. One being 'Education for Women and Girls In or From War-Torn Countries.' The Foundation received a donation from SIA Taiwan Region which is specifically for the education of women and girls from or in war-torn countries.

Club Level:

Explore our initiatives in New Zealand aimed at addressing and preventing violence against women. From community programmes to collaboration with local organisations, we work towards creating safer environments for women and girls.

 SI Foundation - Education For 
.Women and Girls In or From 
.War-Torn Countries  

Soroptimist International Foundation has received a donation from SIA Taiwan Region which is specifically for the education of women and girls from or in war-torn countries.

  • A war-torn country is defined as a country with internal or external armed conflict.

  • Projects must be in a country defined by SI as part of a Federation. 

  • Projects must be educational in their nature. 

  • Projects much include a Soroptimist hands-on element, not just providing money or equipment such as books. 

  • Projects must include women and girls who are in or have fled from a war-torn country. 

The project criteria are:

Applications for funding for projects that meet the criteria above Education For Women And Girls In or From War-Torn Countries would be very appreciated.

All applications will be reviewed and if sufficient funding is available, they will be selected and applicants notified.
