16 Days of Activism

Every year Soroptimists across New Zealand and the globe, support the 16 Days of Activism Gender-Based Violence annual international campaign that runs from November 25th (International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women) to December 10th (Human Rights Day).
This campaign calls for the prevention and elimination of violence against women and girls across the globe, uniting individuals, communities, and organisations in a global movement to raise awareness and inspire action.
16 DAYS OF ACTIVISM
The 16 Days of Activism campaign is a powerful global initiative that aims to:
-
Raise awareness about the pervasive issue of violence against women and girls.
-
Challenge harmful behaviours and attitudes that perpetuate violence.
-
Promote advocacy and accountability by calling on governments, institutions, and individuals to take action.
-
Empower survivors of violence by amplifying their voices and advocating for stronger support systems.
Each year, Soroptimists around the world join the movement by organising events, creating awareness campaigns, and advocating for policies that eliminate violence against women.
