Soroptimist International of New Plymouth:
.'Titan and the Wild Boars'
SI New Plymouth is committed to inspiring resilience, courage, and leadership in young students across their district. To further this mission, the club has donated a copy of Titan and the Wild Boars to every primary and intermediate school. This book tells the remarkable true story of the Thai soccer team trapped in an underground cave for 18 days in 2018. The gripping rescue effort was watched around the world and serves as a powerful example of teamwork, bravery, and perseverance.
Community Support for a Lasting Impact:
Thanks to financial support from club members and numerous community sponsors, SI New Plymouth was able to purchase 80 copies of Titan and the Wild Boars through a local bookstore. To mark the club’s contribution, a custom-designed presentation sticker was placed in the front cover of each book, proudly acknowledging SI New Plymouth’s gift to local school libraries.
Encouraging Values of Resilience and Teamwork:
As students read about the challenges faced by the Wild Boars soccer team, they are introduced to values such as courage, leadership, compassion, and selflessness. By providing access to this inspiring story, SI New Plymouth hopes to encourage young readers to develop these qualities as they grow, learn, and face their own challenges.
This initiative highlights SI New Plymouth’s commitment to empowering future generations and building stronger communities through values-driven education.
